Donald Wayne Ayers, 16, Blossom High School student, died in a hospital in Paris Saturday at 3:40 a.m. following an auto tragedy west of Blossom late Friday night.
Eight youths were in a car driven by Billy Ed Griffis, 16, son of Mr. & Mrs. W.E. Griffis, when it and a pickup collided as the car attempted to pass the pickup.
Others injured were young Griffis, T.J. Elkins, 17, Clifford Barnett, 17, Billy Joe Pitts, 16, Jimmy Dabbs, Ramond Parrott and M.H. Bonner were other passengers in the car.
Jack Wayne Miears, 15, was the driver of the pickup truck and 2 other youths accompanied him.
The automobile twisted and turned approximately 260 feet when the accident occurred.
