James Robert Christain, 89, of Paris, known by many as "Peco." passed away Thursday, April 19, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2 p.m. on Monday, April 23, at Old Shamrock Cemetery in Red River County with Rev. Jim Millsap officiating. Taps will be rendered by Randall McGuire. The family will receive friends at their home, 2175 N. Post Oak Lane, Reno.

Mr. Christain, the son of Ben Jones Christain and Maggie Bell Carver Christain, was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Red River County. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. He worked in maintenance at the George Wright Homes where he retired.

His wife, Dorothy Jo McGuire Christain, preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2007.

Survivors include five children, James Lee Christain and wife, Yvonne, Bobby Christain, Stanley Christain, Bennie Christain, and Cheryl Christain and husband, Calvin; seven grandchildren, Brandon Stogsdill and wife, Shannon, Zach Renfro and wife, Brittany, Tyler Renfro and wife, Jessica, Patrick Christain, Deanna Christain, Miranda Babcock and husband, Jessie, and Joseph Christain; two step-grandchildren, Sam Taylor and Kerri Jackson and husband Robert; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; along with three step-great-great-grandchildren.
