Myrtle Flint went to be with her Lord on January 12th. She passed away at St. Joseph Madisonville after a short illness at the age of 95 years, 10 months, and 12 days.

Myrtle was born in Percilla, Texas to Joe and Nancy Franks Edmondson. After graduating high school, she moved to Dallas and became a beautician. In 1938 she met and married Carl Flint. From this union they were blessed with three children, Carl Jr. who died as an infant, Nancy Jo, and Carolyn Sue.

They made their home in Dallas, Palestine, and Groesbeck over the next ten years. In 1950 Carl went to work for the Arabian American Oil Company and for the next ten years they made their home in Saudi Arabia. During these years they traveled extensively in Europe and Africa.

In 1960 the family moved back to the United States making their home in Dallas. Carl died in 1965 and Myrtle managed apartments until 1968, when she moved to Palestine, Texas. She worked at the old Memorial Hospital and later became a tour guide until her retirement.

Myrtle loved to travel and many people from Palestine made trips with her. She played in the Holy City Strummers, worked as a volunteer at the hospital, and loved to dance. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palestine.

In 2002 she sold her home and moved into Sterling House in Palestine where she remained until 2011. Her final two years were spent in the nursing home in Centerville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Flint; infant son, Carl Jr.; three brothers, Mungo Edmondson of Palestine, Thomas Edmondson of Boca Raton, Florida, and O.B. Edmondson of Cross Plains; and two sisters, Eunice Mills of Centerville and Lora Franklin of Palestine.

Surviving family include daughter, Nancy Suttle and husband Floyd of Centerville, and daughter, Carolyn Lummus and husband Charlie of Centerville; four grandchildren, Vickey Goodrum and husband Jason of Willis, Bonnie Shirley and husband Daniel of Centerville, Carl Lummus and wife Keri of Centerville, and Kim Cummings and husband Ricky of Centerville; great grandchildren, Taylor and Logan Cummings of Centerville, Bailee, Courtney, Chris, and Cameron Shirley of Centerville and Huntsville, and Autumn Lumpkin and Garrett Lummus of Centerville.
