Fiske (Sonny) Ashe died peacefully at home surrounded by his family while they sang him into heaven on April 12, 2012. He was born in Hampton, VA on January 10, 1932. He spent his life serving his Lord and Savior and now resides with Him forever.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty J. Ashe, his parents Inez and William B Ashe, his brother William B Ashe (Col Ret), and his niece Virginia.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Sharon Rossman and her husband Stephen, Suzanne Dobrowolski and her husband Edward, Sandra Brown and her husband Glade and Mary Potter and her husband Mark; four beautiful grandchildren Rebekah, Alexander, Cierra and Nicholas; his sister Elizabeth Goodwin and many nieces and nephews.

He retired from the Newport News Shipyard as a Master Shipbuilder and took up ballroom dancing and painting. But his greatest joy was serving as a deacon at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church and in the Emmaus Community, traveling to Malawi to prayer walk throughout the country and visiting the Holy Lands. Visitation will be held at Parklawn Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15th from 2 - 4 pm with a praise service at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church at 7 pm Interment will be at the Parklawn Memorial Park on Monday at 10 am. Contributions can be made in his name to the Food Pantry at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church.
