Serial Killer. She poisoned three husbands and eight children (six of which were her own) with arsenic and was convicted of second-degree murder in 1872. Lydia was dubbed the "Modern Lucretia Borgia," "Poison Fiend," "Borgia of Connecticut" and the "Queen Poisoner." She died in Wethersfield State Prison on May 16, 1878 from cancer. Her case is covered in part one of the book "Fatal: The Poisonous Life of a Female Serial Killer" by Harold Schechter.
