Ramona M. Burnside, 79, of 468 Mare Run Road, Weston, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2012, following a brief illness.
She was born in Littleton, WV, on October 3, 1932, daughter of the late Everett J. Lemasters and Genevieve (Strosnider) Lemasters.
On December 20, 1950, she married Wade E. Burnside, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Cynthia and husband, James Sumpter and Bertha and husband, Eric Benedum; one son, Phillip and wife, Diane Burnside. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Travis Sumpter, Tracie Dodson, Stephen Benedum, Michael Benedum, Jason Benedum, Anthony Burnside and Jonathan Burnside and 10 great- grandchildren, Hannah, Abbie and Collin Dodson, Sophia and Luke Burnside, Alexis, Karmellia, Jenna, Kendra and Elise Benedum. Also surviving are two sisters, Cerilda Waggoner and Helen Lemasters and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burnside was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Lemasters.
Mrs. Burnside was a homemaker, a teacher's aide for the Lewis County Board of Education, worked for J. C. Penney Company and owned Rainbow Arts and Crafts. She was a member of Mt. Morris United Methodist Church and a member of The Fern Leaf Rebekah Lodge. Ramona enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and cooking for family and loved holidays and spending time with family. She liked camping and was a member of the Good Sam's Camping Club and participated in the Special Olympics torch run.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue, Weston, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 1 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel, with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services, in Beech Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Morris United Methodist Church, c/o Blaine Jerdan, 21 Valley Lane Weston, WV 26452.
