Charlotte Mae "Susie" Durant Boatner, 66, of McAlester, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Solara Hospital in Shawnee. Born July 10, 1945, in McAlester, she was the daughter of Etham and Willie Mae (McCarty) Durant. She was a lifelong resident of McAlester and was a member of Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed people and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and (OIL) Oklahoman's for Independent Living. Survivors include her children, Steve and Gina Boatner, of McAlester, Paul Boatner and Angela Thompson, of McAlester, and Rita and Jerry Noble, of Fairview. Also, 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bennie Durant, of McAlester, and two sisters, Lois Ward, of Tulsa, and Veta Dryden, of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Etham and Willie Durant; brothers, Robert, Edward and Elmer Durant, and sisters, Lillian Duncan and Patsy Dyer. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with the Rev. Robert Tate officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
