Wedding Anniversary November 15, 1922

Mr. Clayton Wright, 71, a retired farmer of Campbellsville , Route # 1, formerly of the Saloma Community in Taylor County, son of the late : Mr. Eddie Wright and Mrs. Miriah Shofner Wright, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 26, 1902. He died suddenly at 4:35 p.m., Friday May 3, 1974, at his home. He had professed faith in Christ early in life and was of the Holiness Faith. He united in marriage to, Miss Ada Pearl Thompson, November 15, 1922. She preceded him in death May 16, 1969. He united in marriage to Mrs Mary Sprowles Shofner, July 26, 1969. One daughter , Geraldine Wright , died in infancy.Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Mrs Mary Shofner Wright of Campbellsville , Rout# 1 : five daughters and two sons.: Mrs. Ned Beams, Mrs. Olyn Graham, and Mr. Keith Wright all of Campbellsville., Mr Donald Wright of Campbellsville, and Mrs. Phillip Gilpin of Campbellsville, Route # 2, Mrs. Hershel Hash of Campbellsville , Route # 3., and Mrs. David Thompson of Campbellsville , Route# 4. : two step-sons and one step-daughter; Mr. Oscar Shofner and Mrs. Anna Roots both of Campbellsville, and Mr Eddie Shofner of Campbellsville, Route# 6. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: two great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother; Mrs.J.T.Phillips of Campbellsville , Route # 1 , Mrs Mina Phillips of Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Hugh Wright of Louisville, and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were at 4:00p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Marshall Black and Rev. Georgr Bertram. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Gary Ludwig, Delano Shipp, Daryl Shofner, Lynn Wright, Dale Shofner, James Richard DeWitt.
