Ida "Minkler" Allen was born May 31, 1860 in Coffins Grove, Iowa to Hiram Minkler and Rhoda Stockwell.

She is seen by many names throughout the years. They include Ida, Harriet, Hattie and even Ada on her marriage certificate.

The family relocated to Mineral Township, Missouri [now known as Oronogo, Missouri] sometime between 1860 and 1870. While living in Oronogo, Ida met William H Allen. The couple wed on July 23, 1876 in Oronogo.

The young couple disappears on census records until 1900. They are now living in Neck City, Missouri which is just north of the previous residence. They list having 7 children but only 4 have survived. Those four children are Nellie, George, Flora and Grace Allen. Another known child is Ida Allen.

Sometime between 1900 and 1910 the family moved to McMillen, Missouri in McDonald County. They now list having 9 children and six living. The only new addition to census is Myrtle Allen at the age of 7. Daughter Nellie is also now listed as Nellie Armstrong and has a son named Johnie, all living with William and Ida.

No death certificate can be found for Ida but according to her headstone, she passed away on December 8, 1911. She was buried at the Cummings Chapel Cemetery in Tiff City, Missouri after a short life.
