11/5/1913 - 4/6/2012

On this earth for 98 years, five months and one day. Married to Dot, the love of his life, for one month and two days short of 40 years. Everett Holsclaw died April 6, 2012 surrounded by his family.
He was born to J.H. and Violet Holsclaw November 5, 1913 in North Vernon, Ind. His family moved to North Dakota in the fall of 1919, then moved again to Newcastle, Calif. in 1924. After two years, the family moved to Auburn where his dad started a wood and coal business, which later became a Holsclaw Feed and Farm Supply. Everett sold out in 1966, picked up his Teamsters card and went to driving big rigs and logged over two million miles.
Everett married Marie Cable in 1939, divorced in 1970. He married Dorothy Wagner in 1972. He graduated from Placer High in 1932 and in 1954 became a trustee during the years when Colfax and Del Oro schools were built.
He joined Auburn Lodge #7-100F in 1933 and remained a member all his life.
Everett enjoyed fishing and traveling and did a lot of both with his wife, Dot. He also enjoyed gardening and working in his shop, where he made many things for the house and toys for the great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his brothers; Harold, Arthur and Francis and by his sisters; Edith, and Myrtle.
Survived by wife Dorothy, sons; David, James, Walter and Michael and children by marriage; Veva McElhannon and Gail Stevens.
Everett will be missed.

Talked to Everett on the phone and he will be 98 in Nov. 2011.

He said his brother Harold Holsclaw was interned in a small cemetery near Grey Eagle, taking HWY 70. Found, asked creator to make links.

Also said a sister Myrtle (Holsclaw) Harrington and her husband are at the New Auburn Cemetery.
