Carol Sue Clayton, 55, of Des Moines and formerly of Grinnell, joined the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 12 noon to 8 p.m., with the family present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Carol Sue Clayton Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.
Carol was born July 21, 1956, to Ernest "Bud" and Sue Marie Booth Deppe in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1974.
Carol enjoyed watching television and tending to her plants.
She is survived by her father, Ernest "Bud" Deppe of Grinnell; her four children, Sara Clayton of Ankeny, Jacob Clayton of Cambridge, Tenea and Eva Fabray, both of Des Moines; her brother Randy (Kathy) Deppe of Kellogg and a nephew, Clayton Deppe.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Sue Marie Deppe in 2008.
