Delwin Melcher was born February 14, 1933 in Bloomfield, Nebraska to Gilbert and Leota (Mueting) Melcher. He grew up in the Platte Center and Cornlea area and attended District #11 School. Delwin married Marguerite Behrens on June 10, 1952 in Lindsay, Nebraska. Delwin worked at Lindsay Manufacturing and also at Appleton Electric. He was a member of St. Isidore Church and enjoyed playing cards.
