His wife, Laura E.M. (Bachman) Adam, died Sept. 5, 1984. Born in Richmond Twp., he was the son of the late Alvin P. and Flossie (Mengel) Adam.
He was a U.S. Merchant Marine veteran. Alvin worked for 27 years for Joy Manufacturing, Claremont, New Hampshire. He then worked for Quarrymen's Supply, Norristown; and last worked for Outten Chevrolet, Hamburg, in March 2011. Alvin was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Windsor Twp. He was also a member of Union Fire Company and beneficial association, Hamburg; and the Virginville Fire Company and beneficial association.
Surviving are one son, at home, two daughters,three grandchildren,and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry L. Adam Sr., and a sister, Mary S. (Adam) Holtzman. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
