Army Air Force, WW11
Born in Posey County, Indiana, Son of, William Andrew Gillihan & Myrtle Hall
Married, Dorothy Alene Tafel. They were the parents of 3 children, Gordon, Wayne & Sandra.
Elmer died from complications of gall bladder surgery.
I never knew Elmer but long after his death, I married his oldest Son. Since then I've heard all the stories and co- authored a book about his life with my Mother-In-Law, Dorothy.
He had a wandering spirit and never stayed in one place very long. He was a ladies man, those beautiful blue eyes
worked their magic many times, a factor in the divorce which followed 10 years after the wedding.
He lived more life in a short period than most of us do in a lifetime. He is still very much remembered by all who knew him and loved deeply.
Elmer's Second Wife was Maybelle Durham
