BLODGETT, Violet Rose
of Galesburg, Michigan

Passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012. Violet was born April 10, 2002 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Samantha Blodgett and Steven Mathews and lived in Galesburg. Violet was a beautiful and fun loving child who had so much energy and was so full of life and devilishness all at the same time. Violet had a vibrant personality and affected everyone that she met. Violet was a 2nd grader at Woodsedge Elementary where she loved being and especially loved the pool. Dee Sinicki and Terri McDanial were two of her favorite people along with Deena and everyone who helped in her progression. She was always one to surpass any and all goals that were set fourth for Violet, as she always blew everybody away. Violet is survived by her parents Samantha (Tim) Blodgett and Steven and Jen Mathews. Also surviving are grandparents Tracy (Ed) Blodgett, Don and Ruth Mathews, Paul Haas, Phil and Linda Hearld, and Great Grandparents William and Joyce Henderson. Special Uncle Brian "Pooh", and Uncle D! Sisters Makayla, Avanna, Alexia, Pserion, and stepbrother Deryck. Also brothers of the four legged kind, Bear and Tiller. Along with many other uncles, aunts and cousins. Violet was a "Poppas girl" and looked forward to going to see him every other weekend. The weekends that she didn't go see "poppa" she was with great grammy and grampy. May the rays of sunshine that warm your back remind you that our angel is with us always. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in the Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Avenue, with Pastor Jack Roomsburg, officiating. Interment will follow in Boughton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday (today) from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. and also at the church, beginning at 10:00AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to family to help with funeral costs, beyond that we ask that all other memorials please be made to WoodsEdge Elementary.
