Glyn Dalton Brizendine passed away April 10, 2012, at the Oaks Nursing Center in Burnet from complications due to dementia. He was born on December 15, 1944, in Burnet County the second son of Eddie and Edith (Champlin) Brizendine. He was preceded in death by his father Eddie in 1974.

Glyn attended school in Burnet but quit before graduating to start Barber School. He worked for a short time as a barber before deciding this was not the job for him. He then became a survey crew member for Pedernales Electric Coop. and worked there for 17 years before being injured while on-the-job. After 5 failed back surgeries, he took disability retirement in 1980.

He loved puttering in the yard, even if he had to move his chair around from one place to the other to get his planting done. He loved pets, and especially his dog Happy. Glyn loved to laugh with you and sometimes at you, if you bumped your head or stumped your toe.

Glyn is survived by his mother Edith, brother Lelwin Brizendine of Austin, and sister Betty Smith and husband Steve of Bertram. He is also survived by his niece Renee Yates and husband Lonnie; nephews Philip Brizendine, Brent Smith and wife Tammy, and Blake Smith; great niece Taylor Yates and great nephews Kyle Brizendine, Cody Smith, and Trevor Smith. Glyn will be greatly missed by his immediate family as well as a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Glyn Brizendine will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Reverend Max Copeland officiating. Interment will follow at the Brizendine Family Cemetery at Gabriel Mills. Those honored as pallbearers are Brent Smith, Blake Smith, Trevor Smith, Philip Brizendine, Kyle Brizendine, and Jamie Brizendine.
