Grace was born 29 Aug 1928 at a home near, McClelland, Pottawattamie, IA; married Alvin Claus Ivers, son of Emil Ivers and Esther Teresa Schwartz, 28 Nov 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oakland, Pottawattamie, Iowa (IA); died 1 Apr 1992 at home 911 Fuiton, Albany, OR, at age 63; buried Riverside Dr. Albany Oregon 5 Apr 1992.

Grace was the daughter of Ernest and Hertha Knackstedt Boege. On November 28, 1946, she was married to Alvin Ivers in Oakland, IA. They farmed in Iowa till 1956 when they moved to Philomath, Oregon and later lived in Albany, Oregon. Grace was, first and foremost a homemaker. She enjoyed canning fruit and vegetables and raising flowers, especially cactus. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers and loved to browse flea markets and garage sales. She was a good seamstress and made lots of quilts. She and Al made lots of knickknacks and it was Grace's job to do the painting of them. She and Al had a good marriage of over 46 years.
Grace patiently endured so many physical hard times; she went through seemingly endless surgeries, but she always came back and came through each one of them. She felt positive about beating cancer also, but she died at home in Albany at the age of 63.
