Maria Ann Behnke, 46, of South Bend, passed away in her home Monday, April 9, 2012. Maria was born on August 12, 1965, in Dowagiac, MI, the daughter of Bob and Elaine (Wieser) Cole.
She is survived by her children, Rachel (Cory) Smith of Mishawaka, son, Mason Behnke of South Bend, two grandchildren, Cameron and Riley Smith, father, Bob (Mary) Cole of Elkhart, and mother, Elaine Cole of Niles. She is also survived by five siblings, Kevin Cole of South Bend, Chris Cole of Elkhart, Candy (Rich) McGraw of Osceola, Sheila (Mike) Hartwick of Elkhart and Sharon (Seth) Rouch of Elkhart.
She has been a lifetime resident and worked as a Nurse locally in many area nursing homes. Maria was an amazing nurse and a favorite among patients. She was not only a nurse, but was very dedicated and caring to the families of those she served.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 14, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm (noon), Saturday, in the funeral home.
