"Alida Mae Alcott, aged 72, widow of J.H. Alcott, this village, died Monday at Bassett hospital, Cooperstown, after an illness of a week. Mrs. Alcott was born on May 2, 1878, at Lebanon, the daughter of Perly and Cora (White) Bills. On April 26, 1896, she was married to J.H. Alcott at Georgetown. She and her husband resided in Georgetown where he was engage in the lumbering business until 1911. They then moved to Schenevus where Mr. Alcott took up farming. She was a former member of Schenevus Grange and attended the Baptist church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Pier of Schenevus; three sons, Carlton of Schenevus, Leslie of Worcester, and Kenneth of Freeville; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Potter Funeral home, Scheenvus, at 2 p.m., Thursday. The Rev. Leslie Jones, pastor of the Worcester Baptist church, will officiate.
