Louis Boyd,85,who had resided at 505 W Main for several years coming from his home on 421 where he farmed, died this morning at 8:20 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital having been in failing health a few months and seriously ill the past six weeks.
Mr Boyd who was born March 7 1894 in Switzerland County lost his father in death when he was very young and his mother was Dora Peters Boyd.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Barracks No 192. His first marriage was to Gracie Mae Webster and she preceded him in death in 1934. His second wife was Nelle Linville and she preceded him in death in 1972.
He is survived by four daughters Mrs Henry(Leona)Fowler,
Westport, Mrs Betsy Marie Neeb, Anderson, Mrs Warren (Ethelene)Milburn R.R.10 Greensburg and Mrs Nora Louise Dickson R.R.7 Greensburg; 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The services will be at 10:30am Saturday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Rondald Schenk pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westport officiating and with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Napoleon. Visitation will begin at 3pm Friday.
