#1 Funeral Conducted For E. T. Alston
Funeral services were held yesterday at 3 p.m. in the Poole Funeral Home chapel for E. T. Alston, 83, who passed away Friday at 7:15 p.m. in his home at 802 Avenue B, Bogalusa, La., after a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Midway, Ala., and resident of Bogalusa since 1927. Alston, a Methodist, was a long time employee of the Great Southern Lumber Company and Crown Zellerbach, from which he was retired.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. E. T. Alston; one daughter, Mrs. Urline Rahm of Metairie; two sons, Edward T. Alston, Jr., and Jim T. Alston of Franklinton; two sisters, Mrs. Norwood Branscomb and Miss Alma Alston of Midway; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Rev. Robert Crichlow officiated and interment was in Ponemah Cemetery. Pallbearers were R. L. Little, Ellis Sharp, Arthur Rigsby, George Werckley, Frank Percy and Newell Barnes.

A native of Midway, Alston had resided in Bogalusa since 1927. He was a Methodist and a retired employee of Great Southern Lumber Company and Crown Zellerbach. Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Ulrine Rahm, Metairie; two sons, Edward T. Alston, Jr. and Jim T. Alston, both of Franklinton; two sisters, Mrs. Norwood Branscomb and Miss Alma Alston, both of Midway; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
