BLACKSBURG, VA. - Trula McCoy Burke, 92, of Riner, formerly of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 1997, in Columbia Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg.
Born March 15, 1905, at Roadfork, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Lovel and Rebecca Stanley McCoy Oney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Sherman Burke; brothers, Cecil, Walter, Grayson, and Trimble McCoy, Earl and James Oney; sisters Ruby Burchett and Opal Muncy.
She was a homemaker and a member of Turkey Creek Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors: sons, Leroy Burke of Roanoke, VA, Billy Ray Burke, Christiansburg, VA; daughters Goldean Francis, Riner, Roberta Varney of Charlotte, NC, Delores Robinette, Floyd; sister Myrtle Curry, Turkey Creek, KY; and 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 11 am Monday, August 25, 1997, Turkey Creek Regular Baptist Church, with Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.
Burial: Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky. Pallbearers: grandsons, granddaughters, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation: after 6 pm tonight at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, Belfry, Kentucky and after 2 pm Sunday at the Church with services at 7 pm both nights.
