Byington, Georgia - A resident of Thousand Oaks, CA was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She attended Madeleine Church and Grade School and was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Marylhurst College, and then interned a year as a medical technologist at Harborview Hospital in Seattle. In 1961 she received a Masters degree in education from the University of Portland and taught in the Portland Public Schools including five years at Laurelhurst Elementary. She later taught in the Seattle public school system. While living in California, she taught for the Los Angeles Archdioceses and was active in the American Association of University Women. She was a beautiful woman with a zest for life who could always make you laugh. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by Lawrence Byington, her husband of 39 years; son Jeff Byington; daughter-in-law Kathleen Byington; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Elizabeth.

Interment will be at Mt. Calvary cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Assisting the family with funeral arrangements is the family owned and operated Rose Family Funeral Home & Cremation Simi Valley (805)581-3800.
