"Mrs. Skernolis Taken in Death"
Mrs. Elizabeth Skernolis, 121 North Laurel street, died this morning at 7:15 o'clock at her home following a prolonged illness. She was born in Hazle Brook, a daughter of Anna (Kolessar) Racho and the late Andrew Racho, and had resided in this city the greater part of her life. She was a member of St. John's Greek Catholic church and the St. John's P.T.A.

Surviving are her husband Walter, well-known restaurant owner and bowling official, and four children: Walter A. at home; Betty Ann, student at Geisinger School of Nursing, Danville; Joseph and Edmund, home. Her mother Mrs. Anna Racho, this city, and the following brothers and sisters also survive: John Racho and Mrs. Margaret Patrick, Hazleton; Mrs. John Knoblauh, Bethlehem; Mrs. John Chunko, Drifton; George, Joseph and Stephen Racho, Hazleton; Mrs. Warren T. Lenhart, Fairborne, Ohio; Mrs. Stephen Adams, Bristol; Michael Racho, Hazleton.

The funeral will be held from the Bonin funeral home, Second street entrance, Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Requiem high mass will be celebrated in St. John's G. C. church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Calvary cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.

St. John's Greek Rite Catholic Junior and Senior Holy Name Societies are requested to meet at the Bonin Funeral Home Sunday night at 8 o'clock to recite the Rosary for Mrs. Walter Skernolis, who died early today.

The funeral of Mrs. Wally Skernolis, 121 North Laurel street, was held this morning from the Bonin Funeral Home. Requiem high mass was celebrated in St. John's G. C. Church by the pastor, Very Rev. Joseph Jackanich, assisted by Rev. Paul Firczak. Response to the mass was sung by the Children's choir, directed by Peter Roman. Interment was in the Calvary cemetery, Drums, with both priests giving the blessing at the grave. Pallbearers, members of the St. John's G. C. Holy Name Society, were Michael Puhak, Michael Medvitz, Peter Bresnock, John Sharwarko, Joseph Arendash, Jr., and Michael Bacsick.
