Velma Ozell Donaldson, 84, was born March 26, 1928, to Paul Anthony Heartsill and Oklahoma Logan Heartsill in Springer, Oklahoma.



She is survived by her husband, Don Donaldson of Valliant, Oklahoma; three daughters, Pat and husband, Jim Cox, Linda and husband, Ronny Vance both from Ardmore, and Judy and Ed Cavnar of Springer; three grandsons, Cody Wade Cavnar, Mark Alan Vance and wife, Renee, and Jimmy Don Cox and wife, Holly of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three great-grandchildren, Piper Alisha Cox, Perry Adam Cox and Emry Allen Cavnar; a sister, Nancy Sue Peoples of Elkins, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.



She worked many years in the medical profession as a medical assistant. Velma was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Springer. Velma most wanted to be remembered for her love for Christ, family, friends; love for her community and most especially for life. Velma was known for her generous and loving ways; she had a deep devotion and love for all animals which lead to her support of her favorite charity, The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.



In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal shelter or ASPCA.



Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at Southern Baptist Church, Springer, Okla. Arrangements were made under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, Okla.
