Jordan Mitchell Van Allen, 14, of Zanesville, died Tuesday afternoon, May 18, 2004, as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born March 12, 1990, in Zanesville, a son of Rodney E. and Melissa K. Binckley Van Allen of Zanesville. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church, and was an eighth grade student at West Muskingum Middle School. Jordan enjoyed people. He was active in many activities, track team, football, skateboarding, water skiing, swimming, soccer and enjoyed dirt bike riding.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Joshua Michael and Jacob Matthew Van Allen, both of the home; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Van Allen of Zanesville; maternal grandparents, Donald and Donna Binckley of Zanesville; maternal great-grandmother, Laura Binckley of Zanesville; two aunts, Cindy Graves and Julie Binckley, both of Zanesville; an uncle, Donald Binckley II of Nashport; many loving cousins; and a special friend, Valerie Compton of Zanesville.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, William "Tootie" Van Allen; maternal great-grandfather, Earl Binckley; maternal great-grandparents, Fred and Dora Fracker; an uncle, Randy Van Allen; an aunt, Diana Binckley; and a cousin, Jeremiah Binckley.
