Marjorie A. Christenson was born to Gerhard and Mina (Matson) Damman on June 3, 1913, near Boyd. Marjorie was united in marriage to Martin J. Christenson on May 9, 1943, at Our Savior's Lutheran Parsonage in Montevideo. Marjorie was baptized, confirmed and was still a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd.

She graduated from Boyd High School and attended school for cosmetology in Minneapolis. She worked in the Montevideo and Boyd area most of her life. She moved from northeast of Montevideo to the farm south of Boyd in 1948.

She worked at Skarp's Merchantile and the State Bank of Boyd for many years before retiring. She and Martin moved into Boyd in 1972 after retiring from farming. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, embroidery, crocheting and visiting.

Marjorie passed away Sunday, February 21, 1993, at Rice Memorial Hospital at Willmar of complications following surgery at the age of 79.

Surviving Marjorie are her son, Jerome and wife Janice; daughter, Karen and husband David Schmitt. Stepchildren, Galen and wife Lorraine; Roger and wife Joyce; Charles; Doris Zachow; Wanda and husband David Nicks; Mary Lou Christenson; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sister Lyla Eckwall of California.

She is preceded in death by her husband Martin in January 1992; her parents, and two brothers Clifford and John.
