She was a member of the Beaver Hills Baptist Church in Roebuck for over 40 years, and the Roebuck Chapter #216 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Bowman on Sept. 13, 1963, and by a grandson, Harold Eugene Bowman in 1960. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold J. and Alstyne Bowman of Moore, Willie E. and Martha Bowman of Spartanburg, James W. and Sandy Bowman of Williamston; one daughter, Inez Bowman Holiday of Williamston; one sister, Ida May Dial of Spartanburg; 15 grandchildren and 27 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 22, at 2pm at the Beaver Hills Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Carl W. Jordan. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Grandsons who will serve as pallbearers will be Jimmy Bowman, Joey Bowman, Joe Bowman, Billy Bowman, Mike Wells and Bobby Holiday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the Beaver Hills Baptist Church, Route 2, Highway 221 S, Roebuck, SC or to the American Cancer Society, 600 N. Main St., Greer, SC. The family will receive friends today from 5-7pm at the Lanford-Pollard Funeral Home and they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowman at 203 Riveredge Drive, Moore.
