TITUSVILLE, Pa. — Nancy Carol Rogan, 77, of 319 N. Washington St., Titusville, Pa., formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at her home in Titusville on Friday, March 30, 2012.

Nancy was born on May 15, 1934, at Cumberland, a daughter of the late Franklin Leroy Scarlett and Lena Viola McCoy Scarlett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Thomas; a grandson, Tommy Short; and a sister, Helen V. Arthur.

Nancy was a 1952 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, where she had served as a majorette.

Nancy had been employed at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland as an operating room technician. She was one of the first technicians to become certified at the hospital in 1973. She had also been employed at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. She was a lifetime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Cumberland where she was a choir member and soloist.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 57 years, George T. Rogan, of Titusville, Pa.; a son, Gary L. Rogan and his fiancee Helen Lyons, of Celebration, Fla.; two daughters, Susan K. Thomas and husband Julian, of Cumberland and Karen F. Gale and her husband John, of Titusville, Pa.; a brother, John Scarlett, of Cumberland; 10 grandchildren, Kaye, Julian, Jackie, and Cassandra Thomas, Tamara Clay, Cristen Robinson, Jarred Rogan, William and Robert Gale, and Melissa Rodgers; five nephews and six nieces.

No public calling hours will be observed.

A memorial service for family and friends will be conducted at a later time and place to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, PA 16354 or to any local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of St. Vincent Hospital, Titusville Area Hospital, Golden Living Center, and Hospice of Crawford County for providing such excellent care for Nancy.
