Ruth E. Goshorn, 71, of 26 N. Carlisle St., Greencastle, died Saturday morning May 27, in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born July 23, 1917 in Mercersburg, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Della Blanche (Hornbaker) Timmons.
Mrs. Goshorn was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post No. 6319 and a member and a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post No. 393, both of Greencastle. She was also a member of the Senior Center and the AARP, both of Greencastle.
She was last employed at Connie Sports Wear of Waynesboro, where she worked for 20 years.
Mrs. Goshorn and her husband Blain F. Goshorm, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 24.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three sisters, Bessie M. Bringman of Gettysburg, Mrs. Helen V. Burkholder of Greencastle, and Myrtle L. Pallman of Tucson, Az. and two brothers, the Rev. Robert "Bob" Timmons of Clearspring, Md. and Glenn Timmons of Gettysburg.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Revs. Brian Triller and Robert Fitz officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
