Our beloved father, Charles Underwood Jr., 84, of Greenup, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday March 26, 2012, in Community Hospice Care
Center in Ashland.

He was born in Greenup County on September 24, 1927, a son of the late Charles and Ollie Mae Howard Underwood.

He was a retired carman for CSX Railroad and was a tireless worker. He loved to garden, work in his yard and enjoyed the skill of carpentry and working on cars.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Charles Underwood and his wife, Alice, of Winchester and Roger Wilson Underwood and his wife, Donna, of Dothan Ala.; four daughters, Bonnie Lou Erdeman and her husband, Richard, of Lexington, Connie Sue Williams and her husband, Gary, of Lexington, Debbie Lynn Push of Nashville, Tenn., and Judy Ann Blackburn of Lexington; a brother, Herbie Underwood of Mount Sterling; three sisters, Garnet Nelson of Greenup, Margie Eggers of Detroit, Mich., and Dorothy Nelson of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog and companion, Kim.

Funeral services will be at noon today, March 30, 2012, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Jack Edwards. Burial will be in Eggers Cemetery in Greenup County.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
