Mr. Warning was born Peder Anker Pedersen in Norway to Lars Martin and Anne Tonette (Andersen) Pedersen. Peder raced sailboats in Norway and took 1st prize, 3 years in a row.

In 1903 Peder immigrated to the United States and chose to live in Chicago, Illinois. After coming to the U.S., Peder went by the name of Peter Warning. On July 15, 1905, Peter married Bertha Johnson who had immigrated from Norway in 1901.

Peter and Bertha started their life together and became parents to 8 children while living in Chicago. The children born in Chicago were, Martin, William, Sofie, Pearl, Bernice, Walter, Thelma, and Norman. Sadly, Sofie age 4 and Pearl age 2, both came down with pneumonia and passed away just one week apart.

In 1924 Peter and Bertha decided to move their family to Michigan, settling in the small village of Pullman. The following years brought much joy and much pain for the Warning family. After moving to Michigan they were blessed with another son, Ralph. Sadly, they also lost their beloved son Martin to an appendix bursting and on September 25, 1953, Peter lost his beloved wife Bertha.

Peter ran the family business, Warning's Dairy, he also worked as a carpenter and a builder.

Peter and Bertha loved their family very much, this was evident by how wonderfully their children treated and loved their own children. Peter always remained very proud of his Norwegian heritage and passed that pride on to his children and grandchildren.
