Son of James Ware Redus, Jr and Annie Emma Radicke Redus. Brother of James Radicke Redus, Cora Cordelia Redus, Edna Evelyn Redus, Albertha Lucille Redus, Alvin Allison Redus, William Wayne Redus, Wayman Woods Redus, Ira Ervin Redus, Alton Ware Redus and Gus Elder Redus.

Clarence was a star football player in high school and at Scheiner Institute in Kerrville. When the United States entered World War II, he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a radioman aboard the USS Pocomoke in the Pacific. After the war, he returned to Kingsville and opened his own radio and TV repair shop. He also served as a technician for one or two local radio stations. Clarence was never married.
