Mother of Joyce, Winnfield Citizens Dies in Urania
Funeral services were held at the Hebron Baptist Church at 3 p.m. June 3 for Mrs. Ollie Davidson Woodruff, 74, who died June 2 in a Urania clinic. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Victor Matthews of Georgetown, and interment was in the Hebron Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers funeral home.
Pallbearers were H. F. Bradford, L. J. Green, J. E. Cripp, Marvin Green, C. Tidwell, and Billy Holly.
A resident of Georgetown for the past year, Mrs. Woodruff was born July 6, 1875 in Claiborne County, Alabama (should be Cleburne County). She was the wife of the late Curtis Woodruff, who preceded her in death more than a year ago, and the couple formerly resided in Gorhamtown (Joyce, La.).
She is survived by three sons, R. B. and Willie Woodruff of Joyce and Riley Woodruff of Pineville; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Holly of Natchitoches, Mrs. Josie Green of Georgetown, and Mrs. Esther Bradford of Winnfield; two brothers, John Davidson of Colfax and Neva Davidson of Jena, and one sister, Mrs. Susie Preston of Ruston.
