ADAM ECKHART
Adam Eckhart, aged 76 years, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Weaver of 1019 West Indiana avenue, at 12:45 o'clock this afternoon. Death was due to tuberculosis after an illness of five years.
Mr. Eckhart was born in Germany on December 6, 1844. When he was 12 years old he was brought to Canada by his parents but for 50 years had lived in the United States and for 24 years in this city. His last work was as a watchman for the New York Central at the Main street crossing.
Surviving Mr. Eckhart are his wife, Sarah Ann Eckhart, three sons, Henry, Aaron and Ira Eckhart; three daughters, Mrs. Salome Mann, Mrs. Floyd Hartman and Mrs. Weaver; 19 grandchildren, all of Elkhart, and a half-brother and a half-sister of Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Eckhart celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in a quiet way last Sunday.
