Mrs. Maude Ella Abrams, wife of William S. Abrams, of North Fourth street, above the city limits, died at 3:10 o'clock this morning in her home after a long illness. She was 65 years of age.
She was born at Harrisburg July 29, 1881, daughter of Thomas J. Heaney and Susanna Heaney, the family home originally at Newport.
Her parents moved here when she was one year of age, and she lived here the following 64 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of this city, the Daughters of America, and Patriotic Order of America, both of Northumberland.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Mrs. Mack Boyle, Packer street; William T. Abrams, 258 North Twelth street, and Mrs. Francis Maloney, of North Fourth street; three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Minot of North Fourth street. Her son, who in his high school career was an outstanding football player, is now known throughout the city as a tenor soloist of high ability.
Private funeral services will be held from the Shipman Memorial Chapel Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock. Rev. Glenn Flinchbaugh, pastor of Evangelical Congregational Church will officiate, assisted by Rev. James Nye, city evangelist. Burial will be in the Newport cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
