As a sister-in-law, I can tell you he was a wonderful man and if you asked for help, he gave it to you. When he married his second wife, Ruby, he then preceded to legally adopt Ruby's 8 year old daughter, Amanda Nichole Hess Longoria. They were a loving family. Joe not only took care of his parents when they grew old but did many kind things for his father and mother-in-law, Delbert and Evelyn Parker Hess. He also took care of his uncle and aunt down in the valley, as well.

Joe loved to fish as well and shared that joy with Ruby for many years. He loved to drag race but gave it up for ten years, as he thought he was too old. After retiring from his Engine Shop he needed a hobby and went to work on his race car. His last race ended his life, in San Antonio, Texas.

Joe Longoria was gentle, loving and wise.
