Jacob Milton Simms was the son of William Edward Simms and Malinda Catherine Templin Simms. He 1st married Candacia Elizabeth "Candy" Puckett on 15 Jan 1868 in Lincoln Co. TN. They had 2 sons and another child. Jacob's 2nd marriage was to Abigail McBride Piles Simms on Aug 26, 1880 in Hood Co. TX. Jacob Milton and Abigail Simms had 1 son and 2 daughters. My grandmother, Annie Jane Simms Bateman, was their 3rd child. Jacob Milton Simms was a Veteran of the Confederate Army and later a Circuit Riding Preacher. Preached at several area churches and performed a lot of marriages in Somervell and Hood Counties in TX. Jacob and Abigail were my great-grandparents.
