Daughter of Jeremiah Osborne, Jr. and Anne Blythe Osborne. Married Leonard Charles Cagle 19-Jan-1819 in Buncombe Co., NC. Mary raised nine children: Nancy, Margaret, Charles, Anna, Ruth, Jane, Jacob, Rebecca, and James Henry. She witnessed the division of her family by the Civil War as two of her sons fought for the Confederacy, while the youngest, James Henry, would side with the Union. Luckily, all three sons would survive the war, although two were wounded during the four year long conflict.
Mary died in Transylvania County, N.C. in 1869 at the age of 71 years. She is buried beside her husband at Davidson River Cemtery, Brevard, N.C.
