George Wolfe, one of El Dorado Springs' aged citizens, died unexpectedly at his home last Saturday evening, death apparently being due to a sudden heart attack.
Mr. Wolfe was born in Wayne county, Ohio, June 3, 1847, being 83 years, 9 months, and 4 days old.
He was married to Miss Christina Feightner nearly sixty-one years ago, who lives to mourn his passing.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons and one daughter, J.E. Wolfe, of Ft, Scott, Kansas, C.F. Wolfe of Clinton, Mo., F.D. Wolfe of Greenridge, Mo., and Mrs. Mollie Shaw of Lamont, Mo. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters, fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Deceased united with the United Brethren church at the age of thirty and always remained firm in that faith. He moved with his family to Missouri forty-seven years ago, living near Sedalia for a number of years. He came to El Dorado Springs twenty-seven years ago, where he had since resided.
Mr. Wolfe was a splendid citizen honorable and upright in all his dealings with his fellow man, and always standing for the better things in life. He was a good neighbor and enjoyed the friendship of many persons, who will sadly miss him in the life of the community, with which he had been identified so long.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. R.R.W. Barker, the pastor, were held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The remains will be taken to Lamont, Mo., where interment will be near his old home.
