Actress. Born in Frankfurt am Main, Hessen, Germany. With Marlene Dietrich, Horn worked as an extra and appeared in the 1926 German film “Madame Wunscht Keine Kinder” (Madame Doesn't Want Any Children.) One year later Horn made her great breakthrough. Actress Lillian Gish called off for the part of ‘Gretchen’ for the movie "Faust" and F.W. Murnau engaged the unknown Camilla Horn. The movie raised her to the state of a star. In 1928 she was the lover of producer Joseph M. Schenck and she was able to make several Hollywood movies, mostly playing vamps. In "Tempest" and in "Eternal Love" she starred with John Barrymore. Back in Germany she would appear in another seventy movies. Horn continued in the sound film to play in different countries and she appeared besides Germany also in England and France. As late as 1987 she had a part in "Schloß Königswald" for which she received the Bavarian Film Award.
