Larry Dean Aikey, 54, of 33 Bennett St., Williamsport, died on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center.
Larry was born on Oct. 18, 1957, in Williamsport, and was the son of James and Alice Adams Aikey.
He attended Montoursville schools. Larry had worked for Barry Eck Construction and was also self-employed in construction. He had also worked for Greenlawn Memorial Park. Larry was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church and Muncy Legion Post 268. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and working on cars.
Larry is survived by his father, James Aikey, Watsontown; his mother, Alice Aikey, Warrensville; one son, Josh (Michelle), Williamsport; one daughter, Debbie Aikey, Williamsport; four brothers, Jim (Barb) Aikey, Muncy, Danny (Laurie) Aikey, Montoursville, Roy (Vanessa) Aikey, Cogan Station, David (Sandy) Aikey, Trout Run; two sisters, Audrey (Bob) Earnst, Warrensville, Sarah (Jack) Rooney, Trout Run; four grandchildren, Maria, Jauzline, Adriana, Mikiali; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, R.B. Brinser, Muncy; former wife and best friend, Clara (Betty) Aikey, Williamsport. He was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Aikey.
Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of the service. The Rev. Eric Hartshaw, Brethren in Christ Church, will be officiating. Burial will be private in Muncy Cemetery.
