BRENT GILBERT BELLON
Our world was forever altered Sunday, May 28, 1995, because that was the day that Brent succumbed to his valiant battle with AIDS. He died at home in Los Angeles, lovingly surrounded by his mom, dad, Jan, and countless others in spirit. It was how he wanted to go.
Brent Gilbert Bellon was born June 10, 1957 in Roosevelt, Utah to Arvin Leonard and Maurine Gilbert Bellon. His life included many of the traditional routines of work, college, mission. They were not the things that defined Brent. Music! Food! Friends! and Laughter! made up the Brent we loved so well.
Brent had an unique expression of his inborn talent that he shared willingly and often. Brent provided countless hours of pleasure for friends and family as they listened to him play their requests on the piano and organ. He accompanied many school musicians, performers and played at numerous wedding receptions.
Brent lived life! He had a delightful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He was forever going and doing, or planning to go or do something fun. Brent had a rare ability to listen attentively and to hold a confidence. He was a favorite with everyone.
Brent was a connoisseur of sweets! His banana bread is legend. His generosity is legend and his contribution to humanity was great. He gave countless hours of charitable service because he had a deep compassion for the less fortunate, the ill and dying. He was involved in and recognized for his contributions in an AIDS Writers Workshop. Just so that no one thinks Brent perfect, he had pretty illegible handwriting!
Brent may be gone from our presence, but never from our hearts. He is survived by his parents, two grandmothers, Eva Bellon and Geneva Gilbert, and his brothers and sisters, Becky (Stewart) Morrill, Jan (Kelly) Knadle, Sheri (Michael) Peterson, Greg (Marlena) Bellon and Gary.
Funeral services, Saturday 11 a.m. at the Roosevelt LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 250 West 200 North. Friends may call Thursday at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East So. Temple 6-9 p.m., Friday at the Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary, Roosevelt 7-9 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Roosevelt Memorial Park.
