Doris Maxine Adkisson, 89, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday (7/31/11). She was born in Maywood, Neb. on August 25, 1921 to Lester and Katherine (Penn) Beckwith. After graduating from Hayes County High School. Taught school for six years and worked at the Elgin Watch Company. She married Robert Adkisson on 7/3/49. To this union two children were born, Robin Kay and Tamra Sue. Her life was one of love and devotion to her family. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Robin Weakly, Lincoln; Tamra and husband Norm Wemhoff, Keller, Texas; grandchildren, Amy Hraban, Katie and Kaylee Weakly, Robert and wife Michelle Hendrickson, Chelsea and Chad Wemhoff; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Brianna Atteberry; Sofia, Abigail, Adelynne Hendrickson; niece, DyAnn Sorensen; nephew, Darell and Lynn DePrez; loving devoted friends, Deb and Lydia Adams. Preceded in death by parents, and sister Velma DePrez.

Memorial service: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street. Visitation: Monday 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., all at the funeral home. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials to the family for future designation.
