Clyde L. Burkett, 71, of Modesto died Friday at Evergreen Convalescent Hospital. Mr. Burkett was a native of Oklahoma. He lived in Modesto fifty-two years.

He was a plumber and pipe fitter for Hansen's Inc., he belonged to Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union Local 437. He was a member of the men's bowling league. He was a coach and a coordinator for Modesto Baseball for Boys.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Burkett; children, Rick Burkett, Tom Burkett, Stephen Burkett and Bob Burkett, all of California, and Bruce Burkett of New York; brothers, L.G. Burkett of Idaho, William Burkett of California and Robert Burkett of California: sister, Vernal Young of California; and seventeen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs.

Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
