Edgar Bell, 80, brick mason and long-time resident of Hastings, died Saturday afternoon at 5:30 at his home 846 South Denver. He had been in failing health for several weeks.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at the home, beginning at 2:30, with the Rev. Dewey Meranda of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Leroy.
Pallbearers will be John Thornberry, Frank Allender, Will Kennedy, Frank English, John English and Will English.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Ann Bell; four children, James L., of Farmer City, Ill., Frank E., of Hastings, Mrs. Hattie Nunemaker of Fremont and Mrs. Linnie Parsons of Hastings; a sister, Mrs William Ratcliff of Chillicothe, Ill., four brothers, George of Casper, Wyo., Joe and William of Minneapolis, Kan., and Bertram of Steger, Ill., and two grandchildren.
