The remains of Mrs. Mary Isabelle Phillips, wife of J.T. Phillips, who died at Marlin at 7:45 o'clock Monday, was laid to rest in Woodland cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 4:30, Rev. B.T. Goodwin of Waco conducting services at the grave.

Mrs. Phillips had been ill for the past year and her condition became critical last Friday, and continued to grow worse until death came to her relief.

Born near Franklin Oct 13, 1858, Mrs. Phillips had spent all of her life in Robertson and Falls counties. She was married in Robertson county and the family moved to Falls county in 1896, locating in Rosebud, where they resided until 1912, when they moved to Marlin.

Deceased was a consecrated Christian and had been a devoted member of the Baptist Church since her affiliation with it in 18194. She also was a member of the Eastern Star chapter of this city and held the esteem of many friends.

Surviving deceased are her husband, nine children, E.C. Cobb of Waco, a son by a former marriage, G.E. Phillips of Harlingen, Fred Phillips of Rosebud, Oscar Phillips of Freeport, Joe, Lee, Ben, and Jack Phillips, and a daughter, Miss Tommie Phillips of Marlin, also three brothers, John A. Baker of Waco, James Baker of Chickasha, Okla., and Ed Baker of Robertson county, and a sister, Mrs. Kate Sims of Robertson county.

Pallbearers were N.E. Stockton, Sim Souther, and J.R. Taylor of Rosebud and T.B. Bryden, Bradley Linthieum, and Charles Peyton of Marlin.
