John Wedesky, age 80, died Sat. Sept. 8,2001 at Mercy Hospital. He was born
March 12, 1921 in Collinsville, IL; the son of Anthony and Anna (Klein) Wedesky.
He served in WW II, serving in China, Burma, and India Theater from 1942 to
1945. John has lived in Janesville since 1947. He married Lucille Rappold on
March 30, 1946 in Collinsville, IL. He worked for W.P.L.as a lineman. John is a
member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 14th A.F. Flying Tiger Assoc., 32 Inf.
Assoc- Red Arrow, War Birds, V.F.W., and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Lucille, 2 daughters, Donna Blake and Carol Wedesky,
all of Janesville; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandson, a brother William Wedesky
of Monroe ; a sister Rose Creeps of Edwardsville,IL . He was preceded in death
by his parents, 2 brothers, Peter and Joseph; and a sister Lillian Kuhlman.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 Wed. Sept. 12, 2001 at Mt. Calvary
Lutheran Church, with Rev. Thomas Colgrove officiating. Burial will be in
Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wed. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be given to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or the W.W. II
Monument fund. SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, is assisting the family with
arrangements.
