Well known lady died at Dawson Saturday -- Buried Here
The funeral of Mrs. C W. Cornie who died at her home in Dawson on Saturday, was held here Monday afternoon services being held at the M. E. Church, Rev Rice officiating.
Deceased had been ailing for several years, and a few weeks ago was forced to take to her bed, and very little hope was given by the attending physicians, and her death was not entirely unexpected.
She was a resident of this village for several years, and two years ago moved to Dawson where Mr. Cornie engated in business.
Deceased was born in Penthraythire[?], Wales, Sept. 14, 1855, coming to the United States in 1881 with her parents. who settled in Elgin, Ill.
Mrs. Cornie was the mother of eight children all of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Dell Burnridge of Los Angeles, CA; Richard Davies of Mossett, Graham Island, B.C. [Canada], Henry and Louis Davies of Mapoleon; Mrs. H J Hillmer of Blunt, S.D.; Claud Cornie of Pollock, S. D., Mrs. L A Eggleston of Bismark [N. D.] and Mrs. G. G. Scheeler of Kintrye."
