Funeral Card:

Lydia Boxberger, daughter of Henry and Eva Margaret (Becker) Stricker Sr. was born July 10, 1905 in Barton Co. Her death occurred May 18 1987 at Russell City Hospital at the age of 81 years, 10 months, 8 days.

Nearly all Lydia's life was lived in Russell County. She received her basic education in the rural school near Milberger, and she married Leo Boxberger June 14, 1925 in Russell, KS. She and Leo made their home on the family farm south of Russell where they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1985.

Lydia occupied her life with the many and varied activities of a housewife and homemaker, and looked after the many necessary chores of a farmer's wife. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith and had been a member of the St. John Lutheran Church at Russell for many years.

After the death of her husband, Leo, on March 17, 1986, she continued to make her home on the family farm south of Russell; however her health had failed even before Leo's death, and she began to need more assistance at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John and David Stricker, who died as children. Survivors: two brothers, Gottfried Stricker and Henry Stricker Jr., both of Russell; a sister, Mrs. Theodor (Emma) Laubhan, Russell. Another very important part of her family were her many nieces and nephews, all of whom occupied a very special spot in her life.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wed. at St. John Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert Lundgren officiating; burial in the church cemetery
